Dr. Kathryn Kiskaddon has always called Florida home, and since she was inspired to pursue a career in dentistry by our very own Dr. Maggie, she is thrilled to be a part of our team! She can’t wait to meet you and your family at your next appointment, and you’re welcome to learn more about her education, training, and experience below.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Pediatric Dentist?
Dr. Kathryn has always loved working with kids and was drawn to pediatric dentistry because of how much she loved visiting the dentist as a young girl. The ability to create a safe and positive environment for children at the dental office is one of her deepest passions.
During dental school, Dr. Kathryn organized and led many pediatric-based community dental events and even traveled for two consecutive years on a pediatric dental mission trip to serve the children of San Andros, Bahamas! She’s a big nerd at heart and loves the challenge of understanding each child’s psychology in combination with helping them adapt to and be nurtured in the dental environment. For her, pediatric dentistry offers the best of both worlds: she gets to do what she loves while working with the population she loves most!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Kathryn obtained her B.S. in Biology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and then went on to complete her doctoral dental degree at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. She spent two additional years of training in a UF Pediatric Dentistry residency to become a pediatric dental specialist. Today, Dr. Kathryn is a board-certified pediatric dentist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and an active member of the following:
- American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
- American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
- Upper Pinellas County Dental Association
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
In her spare time, you can usually find Dr. Kathryn planning her next hiking excursion, hitting the local spots for top-notch cuisine, running and working out, hanging out with friends and family, and occasionally writing music on her favorite instrument (the piano!). Born and raised in Tarpon Springs, Dr. Kathryn is a local who used to sit in the same dental chair as her patients! She can’t wait to meet you and build relationships (and healthy teeth!) that will last a lifetime.
