The Teal Pumpkin Project was started in 2012 by FACET, which is a food allergy group based in Tennessee. With more than 5 million children suffering from some sort of food-based allergen, it can be difficult to ensure these kids have an enjoyable holiday when so many of the candies handed out contain harmful ingredients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea behind the Teal Pumpkin Project is to raise awareness about food allergies and provide trick-or-treaters with non-candy alternatives to enjoy.
